Vasant Valley School has emerged victorious in the annual Aaj Tak Hindi debate competition held between August 16 and August 18. The debate witnessed enthusiastic participation from 28 schools from across the nation.
The 12th edition of the debate was held after a long wait of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Eighty-four children participated in the competition to deliberate, analyse, and debate.
The motion for the final round was on the issue of freebies, an issue which is in the limelight these days. The debaters, from both sides, raised excellent arguments on side proposition and side opposition.
Students of Vasant Valley School, while giving their stand on freebie facilities, said it is everyone’s right to get free facilities, adding that there is a need for equality in society. There can be no equality in society until the lower classes do not get basic facilities, students of Vasant Valley School argued.
Meanwhile, students from the Doon School spoke against the motion and argued that providing free facilities is bad for society. They argued that the freebie policies harm the government in the long run.
Rekha Purie, the chief guest at the program, appreciated the vibrant debate competition and said that the children presented their arguments on the issues in a very coherent way.
